I’ve talked a lot about sex and the corresponding topics but I haven’t REALLY covered what sex is.
There are two meanings for the word sex. Number one is the biological traits that determine if an individual will make female or male gametes (reproductive cells). For females that is eggs and for males that is sperm. Number two is the term that defines sexual activity, most of the time including intercourse (penetration).
Now that we all know what sex means, let’s focus on sex number two (the activity part of it!).
There are many different types of sex, all very common and all very fun (although there are some I haven’t tried)!
I’ll move from the top down starting with oral sex. If you’ve ever heard someone say “head,” “top,” “dome,” “she went down on me,” “he ate me out” and other phrases like that, oral sex is what they’re referencing. It involves using your mouth on another person’s genitals to provide pleasure. Oftentimes, using your hands can be a good addition and provide more pleasure to your partner (wink wink).
Moving downwards, the next type of sex is when you and your partner use your hands (I have no idea what to call this, hand sex?) Anyway, it’s a type of outercourse that doesn’t involve penetration. This includes fingering, when male inserts his fingers into a woman’s vagina providing pleasure, and handjobs, when a woman uses her hands to stimulate the penis. Fingering and handjobs, in my opinion, are a great way to start your sex journey! As you get more comfortable with your partner, you can advance to more sexual stuff (if you want to)! Or if you want to dive right in, go for it! Make a splash (lol)!
Next is a fan favorite: penile-vaginal intercourse! This is how babies are made (PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!) During this sexual activity, the penis gets inserted into the vagina. It can be very intimate, passionate or, on the other side of the spectrum, aggressive and fast (depends on how you like it!).
Anal sex is one I am unfamiliar with, but I know people who’ve done it! This is sex that involves the anus but doesn’t always include intercourse. Two types of anal sex that I know of are intercourse, when the penis is inserted into the anus and the other one is when someone “eats” another person’s ass, which involves licking and kissing the anus.
There are many many more types of sex, like phone sex or masturbation (which I’ve covered in previous articles), but the others are to be explored later!
Nevertheless, the goal of sex, any type of sex, is to make sure you and your partner feel good (or get pregnant)! It should always be consensual and you should never feel like you’re in danger. All types of sex are very common and what you like is your and your partner’s business, not anyone else’s.
Please remember to always practice safe sex between you and your partner, no matter what type of sex you’re having!
