The Catalyst is the student run-newspaper of Colorado College, a four-year private liberal arts college in the urban setting of historic Colorado Springs. With over 2,200 full time on-campus students, The Catalyst serves not only the Colorado College student body, but its faculty and staff. With a weekly distribution of 1900 copies across campus and 35 off-campus distribution sites throughout downtown Colorado Springs, The Catalyst is estimated to reach well over 3100 readers each week. This is in addition to a weekly 1000 online readers. With a reach of 88% of the student body and 61% of faculty, The Catalyst reaches the bulk of those responsible for CC’s $185 million local economic impact, including those receiving its $49 million payroll.

Additionally, The Catalyst is available to Colorado College’s 5,000 plus conference participants, visiting alumni and parents, who spend on average $960 per visit at local hotels, restaurants and stores.

We require all new advertisers to pre-pay for their first 5 issues. In return for pre-paying, we give a 5% discount on the entire order.

Our contract deadline is 2pm Monday prior to Friday’s publication (note, we only publish in weeks 1-3 of the block). By 5pm Wednesday prior to Friday’s publication, we must have electronically received your ad (sent to We accept PDF, .jpeg and .tiff only. PDFs must have all fonts embedded, and .tiff and .jpeg files should be no less than 150dpi.

We offer design services for a one time fee of $15, once the ad has been designed by us you may re-use it however often you like and in any publication that you choose. If you choose to use our design services, all content and design requests must be received by 2pm Monday prior to Friday’s publication.

Certain organizations may qualify for a discount. If you are a non-profit or an on-campus organization, count on a 20% discount. Additionally, if you are a returning advertiser with good credit and choose to pre-pay, you will receive a 5% discount.
