How long have you been working at CC?
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I’d say the kids coming up to me for packages every day.
What is the most stressful part of your job?
Mondays after block break. They are probably the worst. That’s when the most packages are coming in, when everyone needs their books.
What do you like about CC students?
They are very knowledgeable. They are go-getters. It makes you hopeful and happy for the future.
What is the biggest package you have received at the mailroom?
Futons. Those are the biggest. They are a little bit bigger than a bike. We had a, what do you call those things, a kayak. It was smaller though. It was narrow and long. Futons are big and heavy.
What do you enjoy doing during your free time?
Not much, probably seeing my grandkids and family.
What is your favorite joke?
I’m drawing a blank. Shoot I can’t think of one right now. I’m always joking. Just come to the mailroom.
Does the mailroom get more exciting around the holidays?
I don’t know if I would call it exciting. But it’s very busy. Exciting. It’s always exciting down here. There’s so much going on. It just gets busier during the holidays.
Do you have any advice for those of us that still struggle with opening our boxes?
Talk to management about getting new ones. The digital type. Actually those right there, the ones with the keys, those are easy. But the problem is you lose the keys.
Do you have any plans for the holidays?
No, actually I’m all alone. Well no, I will be with my youngest son for a little. My wife is down in Australia with the two oldest and her family. This is the first time in 36 years I’m alone. I have the three dogs though, a Staffordshire Terrier, a Chihuahau, and a Toy Poodle, all three girls.
