My jacket is put away, the sandals are coming out, and it’s inner tube water polo season! I’m sure you’re feeling it as well, but spring is in the air. This week, Tiger fans can enjoy waking up to some Tiger Tennis during the weekend and some “Wednesday night lights” action as our lacrosse team hosts in-state foe Adams State midway through the week.

These matchups are sure to be entertaining (exact times in “CC upcoming sporting events”), but for even more entertainment, make sure to join the Madness and watch the 2014 Division I NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

For those basketball fans that wanted a great tournament to enjoy, didn’t it ever start with a bang on opening weekend? We saw number one seeds knocked out (Kansas, Wichita State), four-point plays at the buzzer (S. F Austin), and saw a school named Mercer beat this other school named…uhh Duke?! Only 16 teams remain, but by the end of the weekend, only four will still be dancing.

Not-to-miss matchups reign across all the regions highlighted by number eight seeded Kentucky and fourth seeded Louisville in the South region. Kentucky, likely featuring the most highly touted NBA prospect still plying, Julius Randle, is fresh of defeating undefeated and number one-seeded Wichita State.

Meanwhile, Louisville’s fourth seed baffled many, considering how the Cardinals came into the tournament as American Conference league and tournament champions— oh, and, of course, defending National Champs.

This in-state rivalry, already coveted by the college basketball community for its almost always-thrilling nature, will take national stage Friday night in Indianapolis at 9:45EST on CBS.

Four other matchups took place last night, but were not finished by print. Dayton vs. Stanford, Baylor vs. Wisconsin, UCLA vs. Florida, and San Diego State vs. Arizona made up Thursday’s action.

The three matchups for tonight alongside Kentucky vs. Louisville are Tennessee vs. Michigan, Connecticut vs. Iowa State, and Michigan State vs. Virginia to anchor the evening.

Enjoy the action everyone and I hope your bracket isn’t totally busted yet. Mine’s still kind of, sort of, maybe…got a chance.
