Women’s Soccer
Colorado College played Colorado State University (CSU) to a 1-1 draw Sunday at Stewart Field. CSU went ahead 15 minutes in, but CC turned early second-half pressure into the equalizer 10 minutes into the second half. Finley Schoenbeck ’28 scored to tie the match after an earlier corner kick and a blocked shot. It was Schoenbeck’s first goal of the season.
With the draw, Colorado College moves to 2-4-3 overall.
Next, Colorado College hosts the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Stewart Field.
Men’s Soccer
Colorado College beat Carroll University in Wisconsin 6-0 Friday night, an emphatic statement to start the away weekend. Zeke Lubin ‘27 notched a brace, while Grayson Cappodono ‘30, Ethan Johnson ‘30 and Aris Lindquist ‘29 scored their first career goals. The sixth was an own goal.
The Tigers then played the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to a 2-2 tie on Sunday. After being held scoreless in the first half, CC scored twice after halftime with goals from Jack Hilliard ‘27 and Connor Salita ‘29, finishing the game with nine shots while facing 15 from Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Colorado College has scored at least two goals in three consecutive games, moving the team to 4-1-1 overall.
Next, Colorado College travels to Lincoln, Neb., to face Nebraska Wesleyan University on Friday, Sept. 25.
Intramurals
IM leagues all started this week. There was strong turnout for flag football (16 teams), outdoor soccer (16 teams) and indoor volleyball (17 teams). Check the Roar Report for updates throughout the season.
Block 2’s Second Saturday Series is the Hamster Ball Soccer Tournament, set for Saturday, Oct. 3. Rosters are due Friday, Oct. 2. Teams of three — coed in nature.
