Hello readers, and welcome back to another week of drinking. In continuation of our eighth block promise, we are writing to you at Westfax Brewing Company. Claire Lindsay ‘27 (the future of Beer for Babes) and Megan went to this brewery last summer and had one of the best beers of their lives: a cilantro lime Mexican lager. It is now discontinued, but this remains one of Megan’s favorite breweries in The Springs.

For some reason we always feel like regulars here, and the vibes are amazing, especially on a warm summer night. The bartender was a silversmith with some awesome jewelry. Their beer is also pretty good. So, without further ado, let’s get into the beer.

Haley began her journey with Peaches Be Crazy, a sour beer that actually wasn’t that sour. It mostly just tasted like peach rings. It was still tasty. Before any drinking could begin, Haley decided that her habit of not eating before drinking must come to an end. To quell her hunger, she ran across the four-lane highway to walk through a Taco Bell Drive Thru. Pro tip: get a bean burrito.

Back to the beer: it was a very beer-forward sour, which we all enjoyed. The peach flavor didn’t necessarily shine through in the sip, but it certainly did in the burp. Haley’s next beer was Blootylicious (Blueberry we think). We described it as “really good” and “yummy.” Again, it was more blueberry in the burp than the sip itself.

We are sensing a theme here, but aren’t particularly mad about it.

Both of these beers came in cute little glasses, which often means you’re not drinking a real beer. Depending on the mood, this can be interpreted in a positive or negative light. Not much to say on this beer, except it was a fun time.

Megan started strong with the New Zealand IPA, which was fine. Nothing special, but solid. Megan noted the rising prevalence of New Zealand IPAs and Pilsners at every brewery in this city. If anyone could enlighten us on why this is, it would be greatly appreciated. Peyton Murphy (washed up, ‘25) noted that in NYC, this is not the case, but this beer has inspired her to seek more New Zealand-inspired drinks in her future. Has Haley’s obsession with down under spread to Colorado breweries? The world may never know.

Next, Megan opted for the Italian Pilsner, in an unusual order of beverages. Usually, she would go for a lighter beer, then move to IPAs, but she was feeling frisky. This Pilsner was very good, but had really strong notes of green tea for some odd reason. Not sure what that was about, but it made the beer extremely refreshing. Maybe it was the IPA before that made this go down easy, but we weren’t complaining.

Overall, Westfax unsurprisingly delivered great vibes, accompanied by a walk down memory lane, as we looked at baby photos of ourselves and compared our outfits and childhood aura. The bartender was hot, the sun was shining and we got drunk at 3 p.m. A success! Thanks for tuning in for another week. Stay tuned for our next article, where we will be introducing our highly anticipated successors, whom you probably already know.
