Women’s Soccer: The Tigers lost 2-1 away at Colorado State University on Oct. 9, then lost 1-0 at the University of Wyoming on Oct. 12. CC rebounded with a pair of home wins, defeating Nevada 2-1 on Oct. 16 and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas 1-0 on Oct. 19 for their senior day.
Kendall Memoly ‘27 was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for her two-goal performance over the two home games. Goalkeeper Regan Wallace ‘27 was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after only letting in one goal over the two games. Only two matches remain in Mountain West Conference play, and the Tigers hope to improve their 2-3-3 conference record against Grand Canyon on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. in Phoenix, Ariz., and against Air Force at Weidner Field in downtown Colorado Springs on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.
Men’s Soccer: The Tigers boast an undefeated 8-0-6 record and kept their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) win streak alive, now 32 games long, which dates back to Oct. 31, 2023. The Tigers beat Texas Lutheran 2-0 on Oct. 10 at home and on Oct. 12 drew at home against Concordia (Texas) 1-1. Next week, traveling for a pair of away games, they drew 1-1 against Austin College in Sherman, Texas on Oct. 17, then beat LeTourneau 1-0 on Oct. 19 in Longview, Texas. On Friday, Oct. 24, the Tigers have their last home game of the season against McMurry at 4:30 on Stewart Field.
They then close out their season with two away games, first playing Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas at 12 p.m. CT on Oct. 26, then facing the University of Dallas on Nov. 1 in Irving, Texas, also at 12 p.m. CT.
Men’s Hockey: The No. 16 Tigers have won four straight, defeating Bentley 5-2 on Oct. 10, defeating Air Force 4-2 on Oct. 11 (winning the Pikes Peak trophy), and sweeping Northern Michigan with a 2-1 (OT) win on Oct. 17 and a 5-2 win on Oct. 18. Sophomore Seth Constance was named the KJ Branding NCHC Defenseman of the Week, after the Northern Michigan series in which he had a goal and two assists. The Tigers compete next in a weekend series against Omaha at home, competing on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball: Currently, the Tigers hold a 13-7 record (5-4 conference) and continue conference play this week. They lost 3-2 to Schreiner on Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. but bounced back with a 3-1 win over McMurry Oct. 11. Setter Annie Joo ‘27 was named the SCAC setter of the week for the third time this season with 133 assists in the week, including a career-high 59 in the Schreiner match. On Oct. 18, they lost 3-2 to St. Thomas in Houston.
This week, the Tigers travel to Longview, Texas for a trio of matches. They face LeTourneau on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. CT, then have a doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 25 with an 11:30 a.m. CT game against Centenary, and a 7 p.m. CT game against St. Thomas.
Men’s Cross Country: On Oct. 10, Zach McNaul ‘29 led the Tigers with a 25th-place finish in the 8K at the UCCS Open with a time of 26:55.00. On Oct. 18, junior Will Shuflit led the team to an 11th-place finish at the Augustana Invitational. His time of 24:07.50 was good for a third-place finish in the 8K. The No. 29 Tigers compete next at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships in Houston, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Women’s Cross Country: On Oct. 10, Freshman Sadie Honig led the Tigers with a 30th-place finish in the 6K at the UCCS Open with a time of 23:44.3. On Oct. 18, Allison Mueller-Hickler ‘26 and Charlie Flint ‘27 led the team to a fifth-place finish at the Augustana Invitational. Mueller-Hickler finished third with a time of 21:43.3, with Flint following close behind in sixth with a time of 21:53.9. Flint was named the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance. The No. 22 Tigers compete next at the SCAC Championships in Houston, Texas on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Women’s Swim & Dive: The women’s swimming and diving team opened its season with a double-dual meet against Grinnell and Augustana in Grinnell, Iowa, on Oct. 17-18. The Tigers beat Augustana 219.5-102 and Grinnell 180-165. Megan Simonson ‘26 won the 50 freestyle, Isabella Cole ‘27 won the 200 breaststroke, Julia Cox ‘28 won the 200 freestyle, and Annie Engstrom ‘29 won both the 500 and 1000 meter freestyle. Livi Woolery ‘29 was named the SCAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week for her performance in the meet, winning the 100 backstroke and swimming on three winning relays: the 200 medley (backstroke), the 400 medley (backstroke), and the 200 freestyle. The Tigers compete next on Friday, Oct. 24, against Colorado School of Mines.
Men’s Swim & Dive: The men’s swimming and diving team opened its season with a double-dual meet against Grinnell and Augustana in Grinnell, Iowa, on Oct. 17-18. The Tigers beat Augustana 203.5-136.5 but fell to Grinnell 190-156. Swimmer Edmund Davis ‘26 won the 200 and 1000 freestyle and was the team’s highest points scorer, and diver Nico Rimer ‘27 won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. They respectively won the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week and SCAC Men’s Diver of the Week awards for their performances. The Tigers compete next on Friday, Oct. 24, against Colorado School of Mines.
Men’s Club Soccer: The men’s club soccer team qualified for Regionals, which will be held in Omaha, Neb., during the second weekend of Block 3.
Women’s Club Soccer: The women’s club soccer team qualified for the Regional tournament, which will be held in Omaha, NE, during the second weekend of Block 3.
Cycling: Three members of the Cycling Club, Will Myers ‘26, Jim Sellers ‘26 and Ronan Holtzman ‘29, all qualified for Mountain Bike Nationals.
Intramurals: Play for flag football, soccer and volleyball continues this week, and hockey and ping pong intramurals began. Playoffs for flag football, soccer and volleyball begin week two. This block’s second Saturday series is a 3v3 bubble soccer tournament that will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1. Sign-ups are due by Friday, Oct. 31. Registration for the Block Four Futsal and Basketball Tournaments is due by the third Friday, Nov. 7.
