Women’s Soccer: 

The team played their first set of conference games last weekend. On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Tigers lost 3-2 in an away match against the University of New Mexico. Finley Schoenbeck ‘28 and Makenna Kolson ‘26 notched a goal each, but the Lobos won off of a header in the final minute. On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Tigers drew 1-1 away against San Diego State. Schoenbeck scored the lone goal, and CC goaltender Regan Wallace ‘27 made a season-high eight saves. Now holding a record of 3-4-3 (0-1-1 conference), the Tigers are set to take on Boise State (3-3-5) on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. and Utah State (4-4-3) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. Both games will be at home on Stewart Field. 

Men’s Soccer: 

This weekend, the team swept its first set of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) games. On Friday, Sept. 26, the Tigers defeated the University of the Ozarks 3-0, with goalkeeper Alex Wolter ‘27 making a season-high five saves to secure the shutout. Teddy Opler ‘27, Ewan Robertson ‘29 and Dylan Rich ‘27 each scored. They finished the weekend with a blowout 7-0 victory against Hendrix College on Sunday, Sept 28. Robertson and Opler both took home a brace, with Wyatt Linggi ‘27, Luke Stefanski ‘26 and Whit Hynes ‘29 adding a goal each. Opler was named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, for a total weekend statline of three goals, three assists, seven shots on goal, and two game-winning goals. The Tigers now boast an undefeated 5-0-3 record and kept their SCAC win streak alive, now 30 games long, which dates back to Oct. 31, 2023. The Tigers continue conference play this weekend with a pair of away matches: Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. CT against Centenary in Shreveport, La., and Sunday, Oct. 5 at 12 p.m. CT against St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.

Men’s Hockey:

The Tigers open the season this weekend with a series at home in Ed Robson Arena against No. 10 University of Connecticut. Friday’s game begins at 7 p.m.; Saturday’s game begins at 6 p.m. 

Women’s Volleyball: 

The Tigers swept the University of St. Thomas Celts 3-0 on Saturday, Sept. 27 at home in Reid Arena to remain 3-0 and undefeated in SCAC play. Junior Annie Joo was named the SCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week for her performance against the Celts. Joo ended the sweep with 20 assists, six digs and two kills. The Tigers hold a 10-3 overall record and look to continue their momentum in a trio of games in Houston this weekend. On Saturday, Oct. 4, they face the University of Dallas at 11:30 a.m. CT, then Austin College at 4:30 p.m. CT. On Sunday, Oct. 5, they face Hendrix College at 12 p.m. CT. 

Men’s Cross Country: 

CC finished second behind Air Force in the Ted Castaneda Classic on Saturday, Sept. 27. Junior Will Shuflit finished first overall in the meet for the second year in a row, this time with a time of 24:49.46. Shuflit was named the SCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 30 for his performance. The Tigers compete next on Oct. 3 at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Penn. 

Women’s Cross Country:

The No. 21 Tigers finished first in the Ted Castaneda Classic on Saturday, Sept. 27. Senior Alison Mueller-Hickler led a first through fifth finish for the Tigers with a time of 22:05.40, followed by Charlie Flint ‘27, Abby Goodfried ‘26, Brooktie Frogge ‘26, and Sadie Honig ‘29 respectively.  Mueller-Hickler was named the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week on Sept. 30 for her performance. The Tigers compete next on Oct. 3 at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Penn. 

Intramurals:

Play for Flag Football, Soccer, and Volleyball continues this week. All three sports will take place over Blocks 2 and 3.
