Women’s Soccer: On Thursday, Sept. 4, the Tigers fell to the University of California, San Diego in a back-and-forth 3-2 match. CC bounced back with a 2-1 away win against the University of Northern Colorado on Sunday to improve to 3-2-2.  Junior Tyler Rose scored her first career goal and doubled down with another en route to the win. The Tigers return against Kansas State on Thursday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. CT in Manhattan, Kan. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. 

Men’s Soccer: CC remains undefeated, with a 2-0-3 record. The No. 20 Tigers drew their home opener on Thursday, Sept. 4,  2-2 against Whitman College. Continuing their impressive start, the team beat California Lutheran University 2-0 in their 75th anniversary game on Friday and drew again in a scoreless match against Mary Hardin-Baylor. On Sept. 8, goalkeeper Alex Wolter ‘27 was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week for his contributions to the two shutouts. Wolter’s 11 saves are tied for third in the league. The Tigers return to play at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at home against Carroll University, where they seek to remain unbeaten. 

Women’s Volleyball: The Tigers traveled to Oregon this past weekend for a trio of games at the Lewis & Clark Invitational. They went 3-0, improving to 5-2 overall for the season. On Saturday, they took down Macalester College and Lewis & Clark College, each in three sets.  On Sunday, the Tigers took the win in a tight match against George Fox University, 3-2. Junior middle blocker Brooke Brilliant was named the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week for her 36 kills in the Tigers’ three wins. Brilliant currently ranks third in the country in hitting percentage, with a mark of .550, and leads the team in kills, kills per set, and hitting percentage. The Tigers return to play this weekend at the Carthage Invite in Concordia, Wis., where they will face Concordia at 5 p.m. CT on Friday, No. 13 University of Wisconsin-Platteville at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, and Carthage at 12 p.m. on Saturday. 

Men’s Cross Country: 

CC Men’s Cross Country took third in their first event of the season on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the UCCS Rust Buster. Junior Will Shuflit, a 2024 DIII all-American, placed second in the 8K as an individual with a time of 24:53.09. The team’s third-place finish is the team’s best at the meet since 2016, where they placed second. The Tigers were the only DIII school competing. CC competes next in the Ted Castaneda Classic, hosted in Monument Valley Park North on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Women’s Cross Country

CC Women’s Cross Country finished second in their first event of the season on Saturday, Sept. 6 at the UCCS Rust Buster, tying their best result ever at the event. Senior Alison Mueller-Hickler led the charge with a second-place finish and a school-record-tying 5K time of 17:34.70. The Tigers were the only DIII school competing. CC competes next in the Ted Castaneda Classic, hosted in Monument Valley Park North on Saturday, Sept. 27.

Intramurals: Rosters for Flag Football, Soccer, and Volleyball are due on Friday, Sept. 12. All three sports will take place over Blocks 2 and 3.
