In recent weeks, the Colorado College app has gone offline, leaving students without an accessible way to check their Gold Card balance. This sudden change comes in the wake of Rastalls Dining Hall raising its prices, creating an increased need for underclassmen who are almost reliant on the meal plan to keep an eye on their budgeting.

Information Technology Security (ITS) employee Vlad Weston stated that the app is no longer supported and ITS saw no reason to reboot it.

As to why it was decided that there was no merit in launching another app, he said, “It wasn’t used enough, the system was clunky and difficult to use… too many problems arose with the app for it to be worth pursuing.”

“I didn’t realize how much I used [the app] until they got rid of it.” said Pilar Pagni ‘27. “I even told my Priddy kids about it, but then we realized it no longer exists.”

Echoing Pagni’s sentiments and adding that there was utility to the menu listings available on the app was Josie O’Sheridan ‘28, saying, “I can’t eat gluten or dairy, so it’s really important for me to be able to check the menu.”

Students can still access their Gold Card balance online.

Logan Loveday ‘29 expressed his frustration as well, noting that “the menus are a big thing—that’s the number one way I would check. Now, I get an email every morning to tell me what’s on the menu.”
