We are sooooo back with another Beer for Babes. Megan is back from drinking wine and wandering around Italy, and Izzy is back from her complicated road trip with her ex-boyfriend.
We completed some emotional journeys over the last two months.
This week, we drank Greenbacks, a double dry hopped IPA at a chill 6.8% from Other Half Brewing in Brooklyn New York. Honestly, we chose this for the can design, but also for the sheer fact it was $26 for four pints. N.Y.C. prices are absolutely insane. Thank you to The Catalyst for sponsoring this article.
The design on the can was fun, funky and confusing. We pondered all the options of why they could have included broccoli on a dollar bill and did not come up with any good answers. So if you have any insight other than its allusion to weed, let a girl know. The taste, however, was delicious. It was lychee-tasting, hoppy and not too bitter. Honestly, this was one of my favorite beers, and I would buy it again if it weren’t for the insane price tag. As we sipped on this expensive beer, we felt like man bun-wearing hipsters at our local queer-owned beer garden in Bushwick, N.Y. On second thought, maybe that explains the dollar bills on the can.
The pairings on this beer were mainly just different topics of gossip. We had a lot to catch up on after Megan’s hiatus. We covered tension-filled spring break plans, bushes, he/him pronouns and what the normal length of time sex should be. However, this got rudely interrupted by the chug that took us the fuck out. As tasty as this was, it almost immediately started to come up as we chugged. We chose this lovely beer in the hopes of slowly getting back into the swing of things, however we were naive in our thinking chugging an IPA would be easy. Anyway, it was a great beer to welcome Megan back to the U.S.A. Thanks for reading.
Xoxo, Beer for Babes
