Welcome back readers to a glorious Block 4. We know everyone is burnt out or sick right about now, so we hope this article offers a bit of tranquility in this hectic time.

This week, we decided to head to Goat Patch Brewing Company on Cascade and try a few beers. Initially, we wanted to try the infamous Tiger Tail Ale but realized that Goat Patch had a wide variety of yummy beers we didn’t want to pass up, especially for a mediocre blonde ale. The vibe in this brewery is great: cozy, great food trucks and not too loud. We decided to go for a shandy, a sour and a pilsner for our three beers.

First, the Dry Hopped Limeade Shandy, coming in at a surprisingly high 6.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), was an incredible beer to begin our journey at Goat Patch. This shandy was not too sweet, had a hint of hops and was easy to get down. As Minnesota girls, this beer encapsulated the perfect summer day on the lake in Northern Minnesota, an especially needed vibe as it starts to get chilly here in the Springs. The addition of the hops in this shandy was perfect, adding some quirky vibes in an otherwise basic beer. This paired well with roasting Mariposa Beane ‘26 for getting a caramel apple boozy slushie that tasted like melted-down Werthers originals (WTAF) and attempting (and failing) to destress over Block Break. As our first beer, we were already feeling tipsy, which wasn’t a great sign (or a great one, depending on how you see it).

Next, we indulged in the amazing apricot sour, clocking in at 5.1% ABV. It was absolutely delicious. Megan started the conversation with, “Wow, it’s kinda sour,” yet again. When will she learn that a sour is sour? This beer was delicious and refreshing, but it wasn’t very fall, and that’s okay because we already miss the warm weather. Unfortunately, as usual with our second beer, we forgot that we were writing an article and just yapped the whole time, so that might be all we have on that beer.

Lastly, we had the Czech pilsner at 5.8% ABV. It is what we consider a very average beer. It was light but also had flavor, and we both felt super neutral about this one, even though Megan went into it saying that she loves herself a pilsner. We would not recommend drinking this as your third beer in an hour, but it might work better than the first or second (we will update you if we test this theory). We were very drunk and ready to move on to a different location, so that was the last of our notes on these beers.

We do love Goat Patch and next time we go, we may try the Tiger Tail Ale. Anyway, love you all. See you next week.
