Hello readers,

After a two week creative mental block, I am back just in time to recap Halloweekend. So, let’s get right into it.

First, I want to let you guys know that I was partially celibate over Halloweekend. I only went to first base with the guy it’s complicated with, and that was perfect. Sometimes it’s nice to revert back to the basics and just make out with someone without the pressure of doing anything more.

However, although I didn’t get with anyone else this weekend, which is usually where the issues in our relationship come from, I still almost managed to ruin our whole relationship.

Here’s a tip: after you’ve drank copious amounts of “juice,” to the point where you cannot stand up straight, do not go bother the person you like. And certainly do not question your relationship. And, even more importantly, do not start crying in front of them about your life. Trust me when I say it does not make for a good conversation the next day.

And you know what’s scarier than almost ruining your entire relationship with the guy you’ve been obsessing over since the first week? Not remembering what you did last night and having your friends tell you when you wake up still drunk off of said “juice.” I have few memories from Friday and Saturday night. Apologies to my roommate and friends, Halloweekend got the best of me. Honestly though, you can’t blame me for my actions because I wasn’t me, I was a sailor.

On a more positive note, I know two separate girls who got some action the night of “Jelloween.” Shoutout to Sigma Chi, that dancefloor is a wild place.

If you’ve ever received a text that says, “I just lost my virginity” from one of your best friends, you can imagine my reaction when I got that from mine: I was jumping with joy. What made her story even better was that it took place in her lofted bed, and she was on top to start (brother you need to put in a little work — you should have dressed as a pillow princess). In all seriousness though, she is another powerful woman whom I can feature in this column. All is well in the world.

However, for my other friend, it started off great and then took a turn for the worse. Finding out her drama about the guy she got with on Friday night, though, was a little less exciting. Let’s just say, if someone asks you your age, it’s important that you tell the truth.

All in all, Halloweekend was a success in more ways than one, even though I can’t remember most of it. Don’t forget that it’s okay to go back to the basics and also to not do anything at all. Sex is supposed to make you feel good, and you should always have a choice in what you participate in.

(Ugh, it’s so good to be back!)

Please remember to always practice safe sex between you and your partner!
