The Colorado College Men’s Soccer team won their final two games of the season this past weekend, defeating Austin College 6-1 on Friday, Nov. 1, and the University of Dallas 6-0 on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Friday’s 6-1 win against the Austin College Kangaroos contained just the second goal the Tigers conceded in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play this season. The Kangaroos’ lone goal followed the Tigers’ 5-0 lead in the second half, but the Tigers had already put the game out of reach. On the offensive side, six different Tigers showed quality and depth, scoring one goal a piece.
Sunday’s game served as the Tigers’ senior day, recognizing the achievements and contributions of their eight graduating seniors. The Tigers continued their momentum from Friday as they peppered the University of Dallas Crusaders with 37 shots throughout the game, leaving with a comfortable 6-0 win. Midfielder Charlie Wagner ’25 scored his first goal for the Tigers in the 41st minute during his final regular season game.
Zeke Lubin ‘27 totaled two goals and two assists over the weekend and earned SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 4. The Colorado local scored a goal and assisted in each game and placed five shots on goal in the two games.
With their final two regular-season wins, the Tigers secured the top spot in the SCAC playoffs, which will take place in Houston, Texas from Nov. 8-10. Their semifinal opponent, the University of St. Thomas, knocked them out of last season’s SCAC tournament in the same game, and the Tigers hope to exact revenge for that loss this year.
The key to a potential SCAC title run will be the Tigers’ staunch defense. The back line allowed only two goals during conference play, the best by any SCAC team since 2013. They have conceded the least goals in the entirety of Division III this season, posting the third most clean sheets.
The Tigers’ postseason campaign begins on Nov. 8. The game against St. Thomas will be available for online streaming.
