Hockey: Colorado College’s hockey team swept Northern Michigan University in their Oct. 11 and 12 season opener. They narrowly won the first game 4-3 in overtime with a goal from Noah Laba ‘26 before storming back on Oct. 12 and defeating NMU 6-1. Gleb Veremyev ‘26 and graduate student Ty Gallagher logged four points over the weekend, while Laba totaled six. Laba was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference and KJ Branding Forward of the Week on Oct. 14 for his performance.
The Tigers head to Alaska to play former WCHA rivals Alaska Anchorage on Oct. 25 and 26, sitting at No. 9 in national polls.
Women’s Soccer: Women’s soccer went 0-2-2 in their last four games. They tied both Oct. 10 and Oct. 13 home games with San Diego State and New Mexico 0-0, then lost both road games against Utah State University and Boise State. The Tigers haven’t scored a goal since Oct. 5 and now stand 5-9-2 overall and 1-5-2 in the Mountain West Conference.
The Tigers host their last regular season home games over the weekend. They first face San Jose State on Oct. 24 before welcoming Fresno State on Oct. 27 for senior night.
Men’s Soccer: The No. 4 Colorado College men’s soccer team held their rank for the second week in a row, securing four shutout wins between Oct. 11 and 20. They traveled to SCAC rivals Concordia University Texas, McMurry University, Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University and delivered stellar performances, winning 3-0, 4-0, 1-0 and 2-0.
Dylan Stapley ‘27 was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14. The team is unbeaten in SCAC play, tied 7-0 with Trinity University in the regular season standings. Men’s soccer plays next on Oct. 25 and Oct. 27 against Schreiner University and Trinity.
Volleyball: The Tigers raised their season record to 12-8 after winning four games and losing one. They beat University of St. Thomas 3-1, No. 16 Southwestern 3-2, Austin College 3-1, and Dickinson College 3-0 for their senior night. The Tigers lost 1-3 to No. 22 Trinity University.
Annie Steger ‘25 earned her third SCAC setter of the week accolade of the season on Oct. 21. Steger helped move the Tigers past Austin and Dickinson College and leads the conference in assists, averaging 10.35 per game.
Volleyball faces McMurry on Saturday, Oct. 26, before a doubleheader against the University of Dallas and Centenary College.
Cross Country: Men’s and women’s cross country had back-to-back race weekends, competing in the UCCS Open on Oct. 11 and the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill., on Oct. 18. Men’s finished ninth in the UCCS Open and 15 in Illinois, Will Shuflit ‘27 set a school record at the Augustana Invitational, running a 24:18.1-minute 8k, breaking the previous record set a year earlier at the same meet. Shuflit was recognized as SCAC Runner of the Week on Oct. 22.
The women’s team finished eighth in the UCCS Open and claimed victory in Illinois, beating the remaining top five DIII programs in the country. Isabel Olson ‘25 led the team to their 50-point lead, breaking the school record in the process. Olson secured the Tigers sweep of the weekly accolades, winning the female SCAC title on Oct. 22. Olson was also honored as DIII National Athlete of the Week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Swim & Dive: Swim and Dive opened their season in Texas on Oct. 18 and 19. The men’s team dominated both meets, beating rivals Trinity 151.5-146.5 and Southwestern 178-90. However, the women’s team fell short to Trinity on Friday 125-172 before recovering a 179-79 win against Southwestern.
The men’s team swept in SCAC awards on Oct. 22, earning both diver and swimmer titles. Rookie Andrew Colgan ‘28 helped secure victory in the 400 medley relay and swept the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke in both meets, earning his first SCAC and collegiate title. Wyatt Wellehan ‘27 claimed the diver title. Diver Emma Krasemann ‘25 earned her seventh career SCAC weekly award on Oct. 22.
Women’s Club Soccer: Women’s club soccer plays in their final regular season game of the year at Stewart Field on Saturday, Oct. 26, against the Air Force Academy. The Tigers, No. 10 in Region V standings, are 3-3-1 heading into their final game.
Men’s Club Soccer: Last year’s National Collegiate Club Championships semi-finalist concluded their regular season on Sunday, Oct. 27, at the University of Denver. The team has struggled this season and dropped to No. 32 in Region V.
Women’s Club Hockey: Women’s club hockey played in their first scrimmage of the year at Air Force on Oct. 11, winning 5-3 against their Colorado Springs neighbor. Brooke Weinman ‘27 scored four of the five goals, and Aiden Corbin ‘28 scored the remaining goal.
Women’s hockey plays their next game on Saturday, Oct. 26, against a local women’s league team, the Hellcats. Their game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
Men’s Club Hockey: After nearly a month off, men’s club hockey hosts Colorado Mesa University on Oct. 25 and 26 in Ed Robson Arena. Friday, Oct. 25’s game is scheduled to start at 7:45 p.m., and Saturday’s will start at 5:45 p.m.
Women’s Cutthroat Rugby: Cutthroat Rugby went head to head with the University of Denver on Sunday, Oct. 20, and walked away from Washburn Field with a 35-17 win. They host their second home game on Saturday, Oct. 26, with New Mexico State.
Men’s Rugby: Men’s club rugby played at Western Colorado University on Oct. 12, beating WCU 85-15. They host the University of Northern Colorado this Saturday, Oct. 26, at 3:00 p.m. at Washburn Field.
