Women’s Soccer: Women’s soccer fell to the Colorado State University Rams on Sunday after clinching their first Mountain West Conference win of the season and fifth consecutive home win at Stewart Field just two days before.
The Tigers defeated the University of Wyoming Cowgirls 2-1 on Sept. 26 with first-half goals by Kendall Memoly ‘27 and Brett Tsamasfryos ‘25. Tsamasfryos became the first Tiger to hit a three-game score streak since 2015. She now leads the team with five season goals, Memoly following behind with three. The Rams scored the only goal on Sept. 29 and defeated Colorado College for the first time at home this season, finishing the game 0-1.
On Oct. 3, women’s soccer will travel to Nevada to play the University of Las Vegas in their first Mountain West away game. They then will face the University of Nevada on Oct. 6 before returning home.
Men’s Soccer: No. 6 men’s soccer won their first SCAC game on Sunday, shutting out the University of St. Thomas in Texas and securing their 0-1 win. While sophomore midfielder Zeke Lubin scored the game’s only goal, CC put up 24 shots.
Alex Wolter ‘27 stepped up this season as goalkeeper after the Tigers lost their former star goalie to the transfer portal. With four saves on Sunday, Wolter logged his second career shutout. On Sept. 30, he was named the SCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, his first weekly title or collegiate recognition.
Men’s soccer continues with another weekend of conference play. They open the weekend at the University of the Ozarks on Oct. 4 before returning to Stewart Field to face Centenary College of Louisiana on Sunday, Oct. 6.
Volleyball: Volleyball furthered their winning streak to five games after defeating SCAC opponents University of Dallas and McMurry University. In back-to-back games on Sept. 27 and 28, they swept both teams 3-0, only losing the lead once throughout the weekend. The Tigers, now undefeated in conference play, returned this year with a majority of players from last year’s roster, including Carolyn Dormady ‘26 and Annie Steger ‘25.
In Friday’s offensive-heavy game, Steger tallied 37 assists against McMurry and 25 more the following day. Her efforts earned her recognition as conference setter of the week. Teammate Dormady received the SCAC Offensive Player of the Week award after posting 32 kills in the weekend’s games.
Volleyball will spend the weekend in Louisiana and Texas to continue their conference campaign. In another set of back-to-back games, the Tigers play Centenary College of Louisiana on Oct. 5 and Austin College on Oct. 6.
Cross Country: After a week off, the Tigers host the ‘Ted Castaneda Classic’ on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Monument Valley Park. The meet, open to the general public, will honor the top 16 collegiate runners and top three open individuals.
The women’s 6k starts at 10 a.m.; men’s 8k will follow at 10:45 a.m.
Tennis: Aspen Young ‘28, Avery Hickman ‘27, Dominik Kaminski ‘27, Kala Komanduri ‘27 and Hudson Chris ’27 traveled to Claremont, Calif., over the weekend to compete in the 2024 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) West Regionals. Hickman and Kaminski advanced to their respective level finals but ultimately fell short.
ITA West Regionals concluded the fall tennis campaigns.
Club Women’s Soccer: Club women’s soccer beat Regis University in a 4-0 shutout on Sept. 29 at Regis.
Colorado College plays the University of Colorado Boulder Black in Boulder on Saturday, Oct. 5, and then will welcome CU Boulder Silver to Stewart Field the following day. All three (Black, Gold and Silver) Boulder club teams finished in the region’s top ten last year.
Club Men’s Soccer: A month into their season, men’s club soccer faced two tough Colorado teams over the weekend. They drew a 1-1 tie with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Sept. 27 and then were defeated in Fort Collins on Sunday, Sept. 29 by Colorado State University 0-1.
Their next game is against Air Force Academy on Oct. 4 at Stewart Field.
Club Hockey: Men’s club hockey kicked off their 2024-2025 season on Sept. 27 and 28 against Olympic City counterpart UCCS. The Tigers won the first game 8-4 before falling two goals short of the weekend sweep the next night. CC finished Saturday’s game 5-7, and UCCS claimed the second victory.
Cutthroat Rugby: Women’s Cutthroat rugby lost 35-41 to the University of Northern Colorado on Saturday. The forward-heavy game allowed experienced and new forwards to take possession of the ball, but UNC ultimately took the lead when CC’s defense slipped.
“They got a little tricky, and our defensive kind of fell apart,” said Caroline Cullinane ‘27.
Their next game is this Sunday Oct. 6 at the Colorado School of Mines.
