We have gathered here today to mourn the loss of our favorite Catalyst contributor Tia (she’s not dead she’s just graduating). The last beer that we decided to do in our partnership was the “Who Run the World Beer Girls” IPA created by the women at 4 Noses Brewing Company. It was a yummy fruity little beer that they claimed had notes of yuzu, tangerine, and lemon. I’m not sure if any of those were actually in there/I have no clue what yuzu tastes like but nonetheless it was a delicious beer.

As soon as we cracked this beer, tears started flowing but we were determined to make this final round of three beers in one hour the most enjoyable thing we have ever done so we powered through our tears and began to drink, and quickly. The first half of the first beer was so easy we were chatting and sipping and barely even noticed how quickly we were drinking. And then we ran into the age-old barrier: a tummy ache. To distract ourselves from this horrific pain we looked back at our first ever article and wow have we changed. We have gotten funnier and wayyyy better at recognizing a good beer versus a bad one. It was so exciting to see how much we have grown as beer girls!

But anyway, back to the current beer. This can was the epitome of Pinterest mom in 2010 with just the words on a black can a middle aged white woman would be all over it. It was hard to come up with a lot of jokes because we were too busy trying to hold in tears. Happy-sad tears of course. As Tia leaves, our new Beer Babe, Megan Burich, will be joining Izzy, and we could not be more stoked to have her.

We feared the chug, but knew we had to make this one count. It was our longest chug yet! We killed it. There were definitely consequences to this, I think we both stared off into space with a glazed look in our eyes burping for a full minute and a half. But we left it all on the field. And, we found out that when we actually chug the beer, we finish well within the allotted time limit! We finished with a record eight minutes and 33 seconds left on the clock.

We hoped you enjoyed this year’s worth of beer articles and thank you for reading! We truly love doing this (obviously, we are getting paid for drinking beer) and can’t wait to continue the legacy (and don’t worry, tia will still drink plenty of beer post grad). Once a Babe, always a Babe. Who run the world? Beer Girls.
