Welcome back to Beer for Babes! Strap in for your Barbie dreams to be realized because this time around, we have a pretty, pink beer for you. This week we had the passion fruit, hibiscus sour ale from Upslope Brewing Company. It clocked in at a very chill 4.5%, which was much lower than the beers we have been reviewing lately, and… surprise… surprise, it did not get us that drunk.
The can was simple and very cute. It was a little pink can featuring a pink logo to match the pink beer inside (we had to pause and double-check that it was even beer because we were not expecting the pinkness of it to be as pink as it was). It also is apparently a limited beer because they only make it from September through December, so the fact that we happened to snag it in January was a lucky stroke of luck, and if you want to try this pretty little pink beer, go get it now!
This was the perfect can and the perfect beer for this week’s drama between Megan thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj: very girly and fun.
This may come as a surprise to you, but we were so good at chugging this week because this beer went down so easy. We probably could have chugged the whole beer if we had any sort of slight peer pressure. We were flying through these beers like no other. We finished the first one in just about 12 minutes and would have finished with more than two minutes to spare if we didn’t spend some of that time editing an essay like the true academic weapons we are.
This can says to pair it with coconut rice, almond-crusted whitefish, and vanilla ice cream. We did none of the above. Tia did, however, pair it with a stuffed pepper, and it seems that they should add that to the recommendations on their can. All in all, we will most definitely drink this beer again and if you’re looking for a cute drink to pair with your Valentine’s Day outfit, pick up this pink beer next time you stop at Weber’s.
