Our last Beer for Babes edition of the fall semester! Thank you for reading about the 12 types of beer we’ve tried over the past few months. That’s 36 grueling beers in total!

We can’t thank you enough for sticking with us through everything and continuing to read our articles. We love our fans, The Catalyst and most importantly, drinking. Now, what you’ve all been waiting for: Baby Elves from Fat Orange Cat Brewery.

If you remember from a prior edition, we reviewed the company’s “Baby Kittens,” which is only 6.5% ABV. Since we liked that one so much, we didn’t bother reading too much into the label before purchasing “Baby Elves,” which turned out to be a double IPA (not for the weak).

This double IPA did not mess around. At an astonishing 9%, this seasonal beer was the perfect drink to get you in the holiday mood without tasting like cinnamon and pine needles or smelling like the entrance to a craft store like all the other so-called holiday beers.

Spoiler: It tastes like any other IPA – we just really like IPAs. We probably shouldn’t have gone by the label for this one, those adorable festive baby kittens tricked us into getting way too drunk. Thankfully, we planned this final fall edition to take place on the weekend.

The chug was bad, but the burps were great. We suggest that you pair this drink (if you decide to drink three of them in an hour) with Tums. Our stomachs were hurting so bad that Tia had to lay in a fetal position on the gross college house floor that has seen years of partying to fight the nausea.

We hope everyone has a great end of Block 4! Remember: drinking beer can only help. Although we won’t be writing another Beer for Babes until the new year, we will be drinking in anticipation until then.

Stay tuned for a very exciting surprise next semester.
