Hutchison is a two-time captain of the men’s lacrosse team.

“My favorite thing about the lacrosse team is the guys, the team atmosphere. We like to keep the game fun, but also serious and competitive. Hanging out with your 50 best friends every day is a good time. There was a lot of young guys and I played a lot as a freshman. I took a lot of cues from the seniors that year, like Carter Richardson, Tom Haller. They really helped us out. There’s a lot of favorite memories. Freshman year we beat Williams at home, or when we played Montclair State in New Jersey in double overtime in a comeback on the road after a win in overtime against a team from Pennsylvania. It was three overtimes in two games, and we won both. That was a huge experience. Also going undefeated despite the short season last year was a great way to send off that group of Seniors. The lacrosse team is just a good group of guys with a variety of majors and interests. People sometimes think ‘oh, you go to class you go play lacrosse and that’s it,’ but there are lacrosse guys who do lots of extracurriculars, who even work for The Catalyst, who do all sorts of things.”
