As many of you know by now, Colorado weather can be a bit … capricious. Earlier this week, you could find students out on the quad in shorts happily playing kickball or reading in hammocks. Now, winter has returned with snow on the way over the weekend.
I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite activities to do when I’m stuck inside is bake. There’s something special about the scent of chocolate wafting through the air as snow falls gently just outside the window. That being said, today’s recipe is the easiest brownie recipe you’ll ever make. You only need three ingredients!
As you’ll notice, the special ingredient in these brownies is the sour cream. An odd addition, you might notice, but I promise you, it gives the brownies an extra creaminess you didn’t even know they needed. Now you can easily whip up “homemade” brownies and nobody will be the wiser … just don’t give the secret away!
- 1 box of brownie mix
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
Prepare brownie mix as instructed on box. When the brownie batter is smooth and there are no chunks of powder left, mix in your cup of sour cream until no white spots remain. Lastly, pour in your cup of chocolate chips and stir until well-distributed. Pour into a lightly greased baking dish and bake as instructed on the box.
While the brownies are baking in the oven, snuggle up with a book and enjoy the lovely scent of chocolate wafting throughout your home.
