Colorado Springs Connection: In an effort to better connect Colorado College with the larger community of Colorado Springs, the Catalyst is featuring one community member each week. We will focus on telling the stories of residents through photographs and direct quotes.

Ashley Gillit can be found among the racks of chic second-hand clothes at her boutique, Ashley’s Attic. The store is located next to Wooglin’s and Campus Safety and was started by Gillit after a career at corporate big-box retailers. “It’s something that I’ve always loved,” says Gillit, the owner, co-founder, and sole employee of Ashley’s Attic. “Fashion, clothes, shopping, thrifting, being

thrifty… so after life experiences, (college, marriage, children, moving) my mom and I decided to just start our own store and see what happens. We figured we would either do well or fail miserably — at least we tried. Ashley’s Attic is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. “College students are fun,” jokes Gillit. “You guys keep me young even though I am young!”
