El Pomar gymnasium is making it a lot easier for students to keep their New Years resolutions.
Last semester, exercise classes were limited to yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and Hard-Core Abs. However, this semester introduces a wide variety of new options to keep you sweating.
There are three new classes that were added this semester. Colin and Garret teach core circuit on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:45 p.m.
There is a Cardio-blast class every Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m., which is lead by Erika.
Another new class is Total Body Fitness, which is taught by Nikki every Monday and Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. I have been to this class before, and if you are looking to be sore for a couple of days and feel really rewarded by your workout, this is the class for you!
In addition to all of these new classes, old classes are new and improved. Classes like Hard Core Abs are greater than ever. If you are interesting in attending, the class is taught on Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. by Hannah, and a slightly altered version takes place Tuesday from 3 to 4 p.m. by Sam.
There are also several new yoga teachers to spice up your class, which are offered every day of the week except Saturdays! On Sunday, Amanda and Hannah lead a 6:45 p.m. class. On Mondays, sunrise yoga is offered from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. with Dom and 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. with Anna. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there is a community yoga class taught by Misty from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. On Wednesday, Amanda and Hannah teach the sunrise class from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m. and Margeaux leads a 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. class. Lastly, on Fridays, Dom leads the sunrise class from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m.
Continuing from last semester, Tai Chi and Zumba are still offered. You can start your morning off right by doing Tai Chi on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 to 8:15 with Judy. Zumba is taught from 4 to 5 p.m. by Hana on Sundays and Thursdays, and by Erika on Tuesdays. There is also a Zumba class on Friday from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. lead by Lauren.
There is no reason not to head to the gym and try them out these fun fitness classes!
