As of today, CC President Jill Tiefenthaler released a statement that the comprehensive tuition for the upcoming academic year will be $57,162, jumping up from this year’s fee of $54,534. Though the relative tuition spike for next year is five percent (compared to this year’s six percent jump), the increase is yet another in a series of roughly similar yearly increases.

According to College Board analysis, Colorado College fits in line with the national private institutional trends which have had  average increases of roughly four percent. If the current pattern of spikes continue, the dreaded $60,000 mark becomes more and more of a reality for undergrads.

Check in with the Catalyst this week as we look into where this money is going and the rising cost of a liberal arts education.
