The Video Dance Party has been rescheduled to a later date from Sept. 13, weeks after the college announced the  iconic part of the first-year experience had been moved from the New Student Orientation.

“We’re sure some of you have latched onto the rumors swirling around about VDP and we’d like to officially clear them up,” the office said in an August email to students in. “Video Dance Party will be during the second weekend of first block. This way, all of our wonderful students will have a chance to participate in this legendary event!”

The Catalyst reported that VDP came under administrative scrutiny earlier this year after it was omitted from the 2013 Winter Start Orientation.

VDP is an all-campus dance party in the new student orientation tent on the Worner Quad where students dress up in ridiculous costume and/or neon and dance beneath a large inflatable screen upon which music videos are projected. The event is typically known as the pinnacle first-year orientation event.
