An intense afternoon rainstorm caused flash floods throughout Manitou Springs Monday afternoon.

Many homes were damaged and local roads were closed for hours as authorities cleaned up the mess. A slew of mud, debris and water raced down from the Waldo Canyon burn area, blanketing parts of the city.
