A SHOT FOR HISTORY

It isn’t often that Colorado College breaks into the national spotlight. But on Monday night Ryan Milne and the Men’s Basketball team were seen across millions of television screens as a grainy orange sphere sailed 60 feet for a major win.

Milne, a 5’9″ junior from Phoenix, Ariz., hit a buzzer-beater from beyond the half court line to seal a 64-62 win over Southwestern University. A video of the shot on YouTube instantly went viral and wound up on EPSN SportCenter’s “Top 10” on Monday.

The incredible shot was number three on the day, beating out professional hockey, professional basketball, professional soccer and Div. 1 basketball clips from throughout the world.

It was pretty damn cool.

Look for the print version of this story in Friday’s Catalyst and an updated version online later in the week, including an interview with Milne himself.
