The Catalyst Newspaper Artificial Intelligence Policy 2025-26
(1) The use of any AI to create published text under an author’s byline must be approved by a head editor and disclosed to readers via a printed disclaimer.
(2) A human must always have the final look at all content before its publication.
(3) AI may be used by writers to assist with research but it must be backed by proper, journalistic fact-checking.
(4) Under no circumstances should AI generated images be used to accompany any content for The Catalyst.

The Catalyst is committed to being a trusted news source for the Colorado College community and the surrounding local area. As Artificial Intelligence continues to spread through newsrooms globally, we are monitoring the use of AI in journalism to ensure we adapt in the most beneficial way for our readers. Presently, any use of AI in support of published work will be expressly disclosed in the story.
