Hello readers and welcome back to another Beer for Babes. This week, we chose a cozy fall beer: Fat Orange Cat Brewing’s Pumpkin PatchKittens (7%). Beer for Babes has long been a fan of the Kittens line from Fat Orange Cat Brewing, and the can is so good it’s hard to pass up each holiday season when they have a new edition. This beer came after an emotional bender of a weekend, including Izzy getting her ankle absolutely destroyed in our last club soccer game of the season. So, while the beer was a little tough to get down, we welcomed the tipsiness that came with it.
This beer tastes like a normal New England IPA, but was then mellowed out with a pleasant pumpkin aftertaste. It is not too sweet, as Izzy would have been enraged if so, and it is the perfect fall drink if you’re not into darker ales or ciders.
This beer pairs well with emotional turmoil, “I Think You Should Leave,” and Megan being in the most difficult class of her major. It, however, did not pair well with the fact that it is still 70 degrees out when November is upon us. We think this beer would’ve tasted exceptionally better if there was a crisp nip in the air.
Although this was a great beer to sip, the chug challenged us (as always) but this time it was especially bad with both of us stopping after a quick two seconds. I know what a lot of you male readers are thinking, “But that’s a totally average time…” we promise you it was not. We did get to spend this hour drinking a kitten beer with two kittens which was a perfect pairing other than the two kittens not quite getting along with each other.
All in all, we thought this beer was a great little seasonal beer with a very cute can full of kittens, sorry that we butchered the drawing of it but I guess that means you will have to run down to Weber and get it yourself to experience this masterpiece of a can. See you next week with a new fun beer and if you have any beer recommendations let us know. Happy Halloween!
