Hockey: Colorado College Tiger Hockey dominated Briercrest College 8-0 in their first exhibition game of the year. The Tigers put on a clinic, and while not recorded as a league or NCAA win, the game showcased new talent and returning player’s development. The Tigers open their 2024-2025 season on Oct. 11 and 12 against Northern Michigan University at Ed Robson Arena.
Women’s Soccer: Colorado College women’s soccer traveled to Nevada over the weekend to face conference opponents at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and the University of Nevada. The trip delivered the Tigers two losses, bringing their season record to 5-7-1 and 0-5 in away series. Alexis Wessler scored the Tigers’ only weekend goal on Thursday, Oct. 3, before UNLV scored two consecutive goals to beat the Tigers 1-2. They then fell 5-0 to Nevada on Sunday.
The Tigers play next on Thursday, Oct. 10, against San Diego State University and then the University of New Mexico on Sunday, Oct. 13. Both games are at Stewart Field against Mountain West programs.
Men’s Soccer: Men’s soccer rose in the national polls to No. 5 after downing the University of the Ozarks and Centenary College of Louisiana. The team traveled to Clarksville, Ark., on Oct. 4 for their first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) away game of the year before returning home to play Centenary on Sunday, Oct. 6. They defeated both teams 2-0 and now sit tied at the top of the SCAC’s rankings with Trinity University (Texas).
Men’s soccer will spend the weekend on the road, traveling to Texas to face Concordia University on Oct. 11 and McMurry University on Oct. 13.
Volleyball: Volleyball started the weekend strong with an away win against Centenary in three sets. Carolyn Dormady ‘26 led the team with 13 kills, almost a third of the team’s kills, against Centenary. This win brought the team to a six-win streak, four within SCAC campaigns.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Austin College, where their winning streak ended in a 0-3 loss, scoring 53 points. Following this game, the Tigers have an overall season record of 8-7.
The team will travel to Houston on Friday, Oct. 11, to face the University of St. Thomas before hosting No. 17 Southwestern University and No. 21 Trinity at Reid Arena on Oct. 12 and 13.
Cross Country: Cross country hosted the ‘Ted Castaneda Classic’ on Saturday, Oct. 5. CC’s women’s team, the No. 1 DIII program nationwide, took first place overall and boasted the top five collegiate women’s runners. Their top finishers led the Tigers to their first win at the Ted Castaneda Classic for the first time since 2008, despite hosting the event. Men’s cross country claimed second place, and Will Shuflit ‘27 claimed the individual first place.

Swim & Dive: Swim and dive teams host the Adams State University Grizzlies on Saturday, Oct. 12, for their first non-intersquad meet of the 2024-2025 season. The meet is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. at Schlessman Natatorium.
Men’s Lacrosse: Men’s lacrosse opens their fall exhibition schedule on Oct. 12 this weekend in Denver. With two games scheduled for Saturday, they’ll play DI University of Denver and last year’s non-NCAA national finalists, Utah Valley University.
Women’s Club Soccer: Women’s club soccer team was defeated twice this weekend. On Saturday, the team traveled to Boulder, where they played CU Boulder B and fell 2-1. This was followed by a home game on Sunday in which the team lost 2-0 against Boulder C. A player was injured in each of the games. The weekend’s singular goal was scored by Molly Vance ‘27. The team now ranks No. 12 in the region with a record of 2-5-1.
Women’s club soccer will travel to play at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Men’s Club Soccer: The men’s club soccer team impressed this weekend with a 4-0 victory against Colorado Springs neighbors Air Force Academy. The men’s club team ranks No. 24 in Region V standings, only one spot above their previous No. 25. The men’s club team goes into their two-game weekend with an even record of 2-2-2.
Men’s club soccer hosts their final home game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Stewart Field. They will then travel to the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., on Oct. 13
Women’s Cutthroat Rugby: Cutthroat rugby suffered a brutal loss to No. 9 Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 6, defeated 5-99. Despite jokes not to publish the score, one sophomore rugby player called Mines “actually so fierce.”
Men’s Club Rugby: Men’s club rugby hosted their first home game on Saturday, Oct. 5. They fell 67-10 against the #12 ranked Colorado School of Mines. The two scorers from CC were Paul Ehret ‘25 and backs captain Jensen Rawlings ‘25.
Originally intended to travel to New Mexico Tech (NMT) this weekend, the team opted to stay more local to avoid sleeping in their previously planned accommodations: NMT’s gym floor. Instead, the team will play Western Colorado University in Greeley, Colo., on Saturday at 12 p.m.
