On Sept. 12, the cSpace by Creativity & Innovation (C&I), located at the corner of Cache La Poudre St. and Weber St., held its first tour after officially opening its doors. Kris Stanec, Director of C&I, and Madeline Brooks, C&I Program Coordinator, explained they “believe that engaging with creativity is a continuous journey of exploration and discovery.”

Along with previous projects founded by C&I, such as possibility/visual notebooks and Innovators-in-Residence, the cSpace seeks to further this philosophy of C&I “to provide students with multiple opportunities, in and out of the classroom, to develop the essential building blocks of creativity.” They describe this place as “a dedicated environment for playful experimentation and creative problem-solving” for all members of the Colorado College community.

At a glance, the cSpace is a cozy and crafty space located within the C&I department building on the eastern side of campus. It houses a wide variety of supplies, like funky collage materials, paint (watercolor and acrylic), brushes, stamps and ink, LEGOS, musical instruments and more. All students who sign a waiver and attend a tour of the space, which is offered on the first Tuesday of each block, will find the cSpace accessible seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. While individual Gold Card access is shut off at 9:00 p.m., students already within the cSpace are more than welcome to stay after hours.

The cSpace is also available for reservation for any classes or student groups who might want to craft or create together. For more information or to get involved in CC creativity, contact Madeline Brooks or visit the Colorado College C&I webpage.
