Men’s Hockey: Men’s Hockey split their series against No. 11 Arizona State, losing 4-1 on Friday and returning to win 5-4 on Saturday. Full coverage is available in this edition of The Catalyst by Miles Katzen.
Three Tigers were nominated for the 2025 Hobey Baker Award, presented to college hockey’s most outstanding player: defensemen Ty Gallagher (graduate student), goaltender Kaidan Mbereko ‘26 and center Noah Laba ‘26. You can vote for them here.
Track & Field: Multiple Tigers competed in the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs Invite meet this past weekend. Erin Capell ‘25 set a school record in the shot put with a toss of 12.16 meters, good for seventh place. Josh Williams ‘26 set a school record and placed second in the 400-meter with a time of 49.22 seconds. Women’s Track and Field will compete in the Colorado Invitational on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 in Boulder, Colo.
Swim & Dive: The men’s and women’s teams are preparing for the SCAC Championships, which take place from Feb. 12-15 in Garland, Texas.
Men’s Basketball: Men’s basketball went 1-1 on the weekend, beating Centenary 101-72 and falling to University of the Ozarks 80-77 in overtime to bring them to 8-9. Scott Ruegg ‘25 became the 23rd player in Colorado College history to reach 1,000 points in Friday’s win, which was also the team’s first 100-point game since Dec. 9, 2018, against Grinnell. The Tigers have a pair of away games this weekend, traveling to Texas to face Austin College on Friday and the University of Dallas on Saturday.
Women’s Basketball: Women’s basketball had a pair of home games, beating Centenary 109-37 Friday and University of the Ozarks 72-48 Saturday to improve to 15-2. They remain undefeated (9-0) at home. The 109-point win against Centenary set a program record, beating the former record of 108 points, which was set twice, versus Eastern New Mexico in 1980, and against the University of Dallas in 2022.
Men’s Lacrosse: Men’s lacrosse starts their season Saturday with a pair of scrimmages. They play Colorado Mesa at 10:00 a.m. and The University of Colorado at Boulder at 2:00 p.m. on Washburn Field this Saturday, Feb. 1.
Zenith Ultimate Frisbee: Zenith is preparing for their first tournament of the season, the DIII Grand Prix, which is in Portland, Ore., from Feb. 8-9.
Wasabi Ultimate Frisbee: Wasabi is also preparing for their first tournament of the season, the DIII Grand Prix, which is in Portland, Ore., from Feb. 8-9.
Intramurals: The Second Saturday Regatta will be in the El Pomar Sports Center this Saturday, Feb. 1, starting at 11:00 a.m. Sign up before Jan. 31 at 5:00 p.m.
