Women’s Soccer

Colorado College defeated University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa 2-0 on Thursday, Sept. 24, at Stewart Field in the Tigers’ first conference game. Finley Schoenbeck ’28 scored twice and goalkeeper Regan Wallace ’27 made seven saves for the shutout.

CC then beat University of California, Davis 2-1 on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Stewart Field. Charlotte Strabel ’27 scored her first goal of the season to put the Tigers ahead and Bella Stewart ’27 scored a late winner.

CC is now 4-4-3 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. This was the first time since 2015 that the CC Women’s Soccer team started conference play 2-0. The Tigers next travel to Reno, Nev., to face the University of Nevada at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

Men’s Soccer

Colorado College defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 1-0 on Friday, Sept. 25, at Abel Stadium. Whit Hynes ‘29 scored the only goal, his first of the season, in the 72nd minute.

CC lost to Saint John’s Saint John’s (Minn.) 2-0 on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Tigers held Saint John’s scoreless in the first half but allowed both goals after halftime.

CC is now 5-2-1 overall.

Intramurals

Block 2’s Second Saturday Series is the Hamster Ball Soccer Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 3. Teams of three, coed, can sign up and rosters are due Friday, Oct. 2. 

Club Sports

Best of luck to CC’s Club Cycling members Aidan Landers ’28, Christian Sanford ’28, Sofie Fleischmann ’29, Ronan Holtzman ’29, Cedar Wara ’30 and Torin Gastich ’30, who compete in the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships next week. Competition begins Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Powderhorn Mountain Resort in Grand Junction, Colo.

Club Sports Results

Women’s Club Volleyball hosted a scrimmage with two teams from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, losing in three sets to the Mountain Lions’ A team and defeating their B team in two straight sets.

Men’s Club Soccer defeated University of Colorado Mesa 2-1 and tied Colorado State 1-1.

Men’s Rugby fell short in a 10s scrimmage against UCCS.

Women’s Club Soccer defeated the Air Force Academy 6-0.

Cutthroat Rugby defeated the University of Denver 43-22.
