Last year, one of my friends and I compiled a list of 50 things all CC students should do before they graduate. We tried to think of the traditions and events that make this place special and the events we couldn’t imagine missing.
Now, with another year of experience under our belts, I spent the summer thinking about all the things I wanted to do in my last year at Colorado College. My CC bucket list grew to over two pages, and suddenly, I felt like there was just too much to do.
My friends and I have created a list of 50 more things to do before you graduate. If you’re looking to truly maximize the next four years, consider combining both of our lists.
And please, be safe and watch out for your friends.
- Go to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.
- Eat at Late Night Rastall’s.
- Watch the sunset from the Preserve Hill.
- Participate in Dance Workshop, even if you’ve never danced before.
- It made it into the first list, but Crooz.
- Pick out an outfit for a themed party at the Arc.
- Line up early for a hockey game against the University of Denver.
- Go to all three types of comedy shows (Sunbutter, Twit and Scallywags).
- Complete a Catalyst crossword.
- Participate in a Second Saturday Series intramural tournament.
- Meet the toilet-cleaning llamas at Rocky Mountain National Park.
- Go to the CC Exchange.
- Watch a club sports game (bonus points if you attend an away game).
- Get lunch with a Block friend after class.
- Attend Freeriders Union of Colorado College (FUCC) Denim Disco Darty at Arapahoe Basin.
- Ski with Block friends, especially if you all happen to take the same mental health day
- Attend a Priddy pregame.
- Go to dinner at a professor’s house.
- Host a potluck dinner (and create a food theme).
- Swim at Eleven Mile Canyon at sunset.
- Try pizza at Secret Stash in Crested Butte over a Block Break.
- Take I-70 on a Saturday morning to the mountains (getting stuck in traffic is just part of the experience).
- Scan a drunk senior into Rastall’s after Fun Run.
- Play on a team for Kicks for CASA.
- Attend the corn-eating contest.
- Take your parents to the Family Weekend Darty.
- Play on an intramural sports team.
- Bar crawl to Gasoline Alley, Mansion, and Blondies (once you’re 21).
- Have a beach day at Pueblo Reservoir.
- Play basketball on the Sigma Chi court.
- Play wavelength or contact while hiking with friends.
- Watch a sports game at Trainwreck.
- Meet the Catalyst staff at Pizza & Pitches.
- Go to the Olympic Museum (it will probably make you cry).
- Watch a theater workshop show.
- Support a friend at their senior thesis presentation or summer research symposium.
- Get food from the food trucks at Llamapalooza.
- Go to a random lecture on a topic you’re interested in.
- Learn how to play die (or teach some seniors who still don’t know how).
- Go to the Colorado Collective Outdoor Journal (CCOJ) Launch Party during Block 8.
- Play trivia on Tuesday at Tony’s (and try to beat the Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can’t Read Good).
- Sing karaoke at O’Furry’s on a Thursday Ladies Night.
- Lead New Student Orientation and cheer in the welcome tunnel.
- Go to Buc-ee’s during a road trip over Block Break.
- Watch a movie in IMAX at Cinemark Carefree Circle.
- Drive over the Continental Divide (icebreaker while you’re there: if you were a drop of water, which side of the divide would you drain into?).
- Run the Cowboy’s Wednesday drink deal (ask for leprechaun piss and freak out all of your friends with your bright green drink).
- Take senior photos at Weber Street Liquor and Tony’s.
- Stay up all night before graduation and watch the sunrise on Pikes Peak.
- Walk at graduation (and cheer for the people you’ve spent the past four years with).
