OCTOBER 10, 2025 | FEATURES | By Megan Burich and Haley Outwater
Hey baddies.
Welcome back to another Beer for Babes segment. Haley is back from her one-week hiatus from drinking (a gross exaggeration, it was literally just one day) and has really made her excited for this week’s edition. And good thing too, because we finally tasted a yummy beer.
That’s right, people – this week we tried Savage Times, a sour India pale ale by Bow and Arrow Brewery. A unique mix of a sour with the hops of a pale ale, this was all the girls had been hoping for. Clocking in at 6% ABV, this provided a slightly elevated state of drunkenness, which was accompanied by a Practical Magic viewing and looking at yet another Stio magazine (snow edition mwahaha).
Bow and Arrow Brewery, the first native women-owned brewery in the U.S., has a special place in our hearts. First, it is owned and run by a married lesbian couple (enough said). Second, thanks to our Block One class, Ritual and Medicine in the Southwest (shoutout to Santiago, we still want your carne asada recipe), we really appreciate how Bow and Arrow utilizes local Southwestern ingredients and gives back to Indigenous communities across the U.S. through the Native Land Beer Collaboration.
The Native Land Beer Collaboration aims to recognize the contributions of Indigenous peoples to the craft beer industry, and it has raised over $110,000 since 2021 across more than 60 breweries. We love people who craft exceptional beer and give back to their communities!
So how did we acquire this fantastic beer? Originally from New Mexico, Megan brought this four-pack back from what can only be described as a stimulating club soccer trip filled with New Mexico cheer (a beautiful sunset and a cinnamon roll doused in butter).
While not being available at your local Weber, we would suggest to our readers to look out for a sour IPA. You know we love our sours, but this was the perfect balance between easy to drink but still hoppy enough you feel something.
The clock was not our friend this week. Perhaps because we got distracted by looking at Facebook Marketplace fixies, A Bay’s opening day, or massage therapy (Haley standing on Kwynne), half of us (Megan) did not finish.
On the other hand, Haley finished perfectly on time – the one-week break propelled her into her drinking era. We yet again got active on Instagram, @beer.4.babes, with Kwynne being promoted to part-time social media manager. Mariposa, your content creation time is coming soon. Don’t worry.
As for our other partners, Fiona and Lauren, we really appreciated your parallel-play review: roommate ranking. Haley scored first, while Megan scored last. If you ladies want a feature, move Megan on up, #justiceformegan.
Overall, it was a very silly night, but it could still use some warmer, sunnier weather (the grill and the stump are literally begging for it). As always, keep an eye out for us drinking beer at Tony’s and snap a pic (we need content).
Thank you to Bow and Arrow for being gay icons and producing the best beer of the year™. We love you.
