The Colorado College Student Government Association (CCSGA) is coming up with ways to engage the campus community in their upcoming elections.
On Jan. 30, during their weekly meeting, members of CCSGA began brainstorming ways to get people to run for positions and vote for student leadership for the 25-26 school year. The elections are expected to occur during Block 6 for the executive roles (Student Body President and Vice President positions) and Block 7 for all other positions.
Student body president Koray Gates ‘25 said their overarching goal is to “Get people more interested in elections.”
CCSGA members discussed ways to engage students in the election in small groups. They discussed possible ice cream tables, CCSGA videos and a presidential-style debate.
While all of these ideas are still up in the air, CCSGA is hoping to emphasize the importance of student government on campus, drawing people to participate in the elections.
