Looking Ahead: Community Events to Join This Week

As the fall season rolls into full swing, there’s plenty to do to stay entertained in Colorado Springs. Farmers market season hasn’t come to a close just yet: the Old Colorado City Farmers Market at Bancroft Park is still running every Saturday, 1p.m. to 7p.m., until Oct. 17. Elsewhere on the farmers market scene, the Manitou Art Center is hosting an Altitude Makers + Farmers Market event on Oct. 11 at Soda Springs Park in Manitou Springs, and the Southeast Farmers Market runs every Sunday through Oct. 11 at the Southeast Food Coalition. The Fine Arts Center, located on Colorado College’s campus, is currently displaying an exhibit called “Here and Now, Then and Always,” an exploration of Colorado’s legacy through works reserved in the museum’s permanent collection. Additionally, the museum is hosting comedian Paula Poundstone for a show on Oct. 17. Tickets are available on the Fine Arts Center website. On Oct. 17, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) is hosting the 2026 Pikes Peak Zine Fest. Also at UCCS, the Chamber Orchestra of The Springs is presenting “A Soul’s Journey” on the weekend of Oct. 10-11. A little further out of town, the Manitou Springs Heritage Museum has just launched a new exhibit, called “The Wall — A Montage of First Amendment Rights.” The exhibition features buttons, posters and more representing free speech in the U.S.. There are plenty of reasons to head out into the greater Colorado Springs community this week.
