Authorities from dozens of law enforcement agencies are still looking for the 13-year-old son of a Colorado College staff member who went missing more than two weeks ago from his father’s home in the Durango area.
Dylan was on a court-mandated Thanksgiving visit as part of stipulations stemming from his parent’s 2007 divorce. Just a few hours after flying into the Durango area airport, Redwine went missing.
Police said they have few clues about where Redwine might be or how he disappeared.
Mark Redwine told police he left his house around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 19 to run errands after being unable to awaken his son, according to The Denver Post and Durango Herald. When he returned at 11:30 a.m., his son was gone, and all that was left was a dirty cereal bowl, while in the background, Nickelodeon was playing on the television.
Dylan’s backpack and fishing pole were missing.
Law enforcement officials have received sighting reports from throughout the country. Those tips haven’t yielded any results yet, however.
The search for the boy, which began in the dense, rugged wilderness surrounding Mark Redwine’s home, has moved indoors and is now focused on sifting through information gathered from the public and investigations, Lt. Ray Shupe, a spokesman for the interagency taskforce searching for Dylan, told The Durango Herald.
Local media in Colorado Springs have been closely covering Redwine’s disappearance, including two front-page articles earlier this week covering a prayer vigil in Monument.
Elaine Redwine began working for CC this past August, according to the college’s Human Resources Department.
On Nov. 27, the Chaplain’s office, along with colleagues and friends, held an on-campus vigil at the Shove Labryinth to support the Redwine family and pray for the boy’s safe return.
Elaine Redwine lives in Colorado Springs with her other son, according to The Denver Post.
